Traffic/access

  • Traffic flow will be on existing US 51
  • Reardon Rd. will have access to existing US 51

Road closures

  • Close and create cul-de-sac for Gray Rd. east of US 51
  • Windsor Rd. will be detoured during the end of stage 1 (after June 7, 2013) and continuing into the beginning of stage 2, no later than Sept. 27, 2013
    • Windsor Rd. detour – June 10, 2013-Sept. 27, 2013
      • Windsor Rd. (west) traffic traveling east – County CV/Lake Rd. to Vinburn Rd. to Portage Rd. and back to Windsor Rd.
      • Windsor Rd. (east) traffic traveling west – Portage Rd. to Vinburn Rd. to County CV/Lake Rd. and back to Windsor Rd.

Construction activities

  • Northbound and southbound traffic switch/crossovers
  • Four new bridges:
    • Northbound US 51 over Bear Tree Prkwy.
    • Northbound US 51 over Windsor Rd.
    • Northbound US 51 over Vinburn Rd.
    • Southbound US 51 over Vinburn Rd.
  • Northbound US 51 between WIS 19 and Vinburn Rd.
  • Southbound US 51 from Gray Rd. to Vinburn Rd.
  • North Towne Rd. from Windsor Rd. to Gray Rd.
  • Northbound US 51 entrance and exit ramps at Windsor Rd.

  • Gray Rd. (east) cul-de-sac
  • Begin construction of Windsor Rd. including the three roundabouts
  • Begin construction of Bear Tree Prkwy. and Pederson Crossing Blvd.

Stage 1 broken up into stage 1A and stage 1B

  • Stage 1A map – Fall 2012
    • Fall 2012, there will be minimal work affecting traffic
    • Gray Rd. east will lose access to US 51 and a cul-de-sac will be constructed
    • Temp crossover / traffic switch construction just north of the US 51 and WIS 19 interchange will require lane shifts in that area
    • All existing roadways and intersections will be carrying traffic
  • Stage 1B map – Fall 2012-Summer 2013
    • Fall 2012-2013 traffic will be on existing US 51, utilizing the temporary crossovers/traffic switch just north of the US 51 and WIS 19 interchange
    • Reardon Rd. will have access to existing US 51
    • Minimal work will be done over winter, with no affect on traffic
  • Stage 1B map – Windsor Rd. closure
    • Windsor Rd. will be closed from June 10 to Sept. 27, 2013; after the end of the spring school semester
    • Traffic will be on existing US 51
    • School buses will be provided access through the project area beginning at the start of the fall semester, approximately Sept. 3, 2013
    • Windsor Rd. detour – June 10, 2013-Sept. 27, 2013
      • Windsor Rd. (west) traffic traveling east – County CV/Lake Rd. to Vinburn Rd. to Portage Rd. and back to Windsor Rd.
      • Windsor Rd. (east) traffic traveling west – Portage Rd. to Vinburn Rd. to County CV/Lake Rd. and back to Windsor Rd.

  • Don't speed. Remember, fines double in work zones
  • Don't tailgate
  • Keep a safe distance
  • Observe posted signs
