WIS 26 corridor EIS - Selected alternatives

Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has selected a preferred corridor location for WIS 26 and additional environmental investigations specific to that route have been completed.

The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) prepared an Agriculture Impact Statement (AIS). An AIS is prepared when more than five acres from any farm operation is needed for a public project. It is an informational and advisory document that describes the potential effects of a project on farm operations and agricultural resources.

Biologists, in conjunction with regulatory agencies, conducted searches for land within a 2.5-mile radius of the preferred corridor that would be suitable as wetland restoration sites. Several potential sites were located.

• South segment
• Central segment
• North segment
• Proposed access changes between Milton and Janesville
