WIS 23 (County A to Arcade Glen Rd.) Reconstruction

WIS 23, Green Lake County A to Arcade Glen Rd., in city of Ripon, in Green Lake and Fond du Lac counties.

Five mile reconstruction project. Improvements include:

New driving surface
Intersection safety upgrades
- Left and right turn lanes
- Deceleration lanes
- Overall improvement in layout and geometric design
Add passing lanes west of Ripon to help relieve congestion
Current North Lawson Dr. roadway, accessing the city of Green Lake, to be relocated west of its current location and constructed with turning lanes
Rehabilitate and widen Puchyan River and Silver Creek bridges to accommodate a truck climbing lane for west bound trucks
Add a five foot paved shoulder for bicycle accommodations

Upon completion, WIS 23 will be a safe and efficient corridor balancing the needs of travelers and local citizens for at least the next 20 years.

The improved highway should increase the quality of life in the area and provide for continued economic prosperity in the region.

WIS 23 is an important local, commercial and tourist route linking the Fox River Valley to the interstate system and southwestern Wisconsin.

Project cost estimated at $15 million.

Final design work with construction scheduled for 2014.
