Study launched on future of WIS 32 in De Pere
Planning effort a joint venture by De Pere and WisDOT

(Green Bay) The City of De Pere in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) northeast region held a news conference this morning at the De Pere Community Center announcing a significant study that will ultimately decide the future of the WIS 32 corridor through the city on Main Street from Third Street to Eighth Street and on Eighth Street from Main Street to Ash Street. WisDOT staff and De Pere city officials were joined by representatives from the De Pere Chamber of Commerce, Thilmany Paper, and St. Norbert College in making the announcement.

This three-year effort will determine what this busy corridor is going to look like to best serve the citizens of De Pere, Brown County, and northeast Wisconsin. The study is needed since the utilities and pavement condition will warrant reconstruction in approximately ten years. The study will establish what construction projects are needed, including schedules and budget. Estimated cost for the study is approximately $850,000.

Work on the study will begin immediately with extensive outreach planned for the public and business community.
