Project overview

WisDOT is improving the Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge and portions of the I-43 corridor (3.5 miles) including repairing three bridges, improving local intersections, and replacing deteriorating pavement.

I-43 links the major population and economic centers of southeastern Wisconsin to similar areas along the Lake Michigan shoreline and northeastern Wisconsin. It is part of the National Highway System and officially designated as a federal and state "Long Truck Route" PDF.

Project cost estimated at $17 million.

Status/phase

Construction started May 2012 and scheduled to be completed July 2013.
