Location

WIS 13, 7th Street (city of Bayfield) to Old County K (Red Cliff), in Bayfield County.

The project is expected to start on May 13, 2013. The detour will go into effect May 14, 2013.

Overview

  • Resurface with new asphalt.
  • Replacing curb and gutter
  • Replacement and addition of new street lighting in city of Bayfield.
  • Replacement of all permanent highway signing.

Schedule

  • Project is expected to begin early May, possibly late April, weather permitting.
  • June 2013 - Interim completion date for the work from Broad to 1st Streets in city of Bayfield.
  • August 1, 2013 - Project completion.

Construction update

Anticipated work schedule for the week of: May 13, 2013

  • Placement of traffic control and detour signs on Monday.

  • Sawing will start on Tuesday after warning signs are up

  • Xcel Energy will be removing existing street lights after detour is active.

Traffic impacts/Detours

  • Traffic will be maintained using single lane closures and flaggers for much of the project work.
  • There will be a detour of WIS 13 traffic in city of Bayfield while the work is being done from Broad to 1st Streets.
    • The detour is on 6th Street and Washington Avenue and will begin May 13 until May 27, 2013
