Project overview

Each of the Tier II studies (see segments below) are a more detailed analysis of segments of the Tier I Corridor Study and take approximately two years to complete. Tier II is scheduled to be completed by 2015.

Note - More information will be available on the project segments that are unlinked below as the project progresses.

  • Deer Lake - 200th St. to 120th St., Polk County – Currently in progress
  • Range - 120th St. to 15th St., Polk County – Not currently scheduled
  • Turtle Lake/Almena - 15th St. to Hay River, Barron and Polk Counties – Currently in progress
  • Poskin/Barron - Hay River to US 53, Barron County – Currently in progress

The Tier II studies will evaluate and select a freeway versus an expressway as well as the type and location of access along the segment.

The conclusion of the Tier II study will result in an Environmental Assessment (EA) of the impacts and an official map of the necessary right of way for the preferred alternative.

Status/phase

Study - Long term planning with no construction activity.
