Milwaukee Airport Railroad Station (MARS) platform and canopy extension

The Milwaukee Airport Railroad Station (MARS) project involves extending the existing station platform and canopy from 400 feet south along the existing Canadian Pacific Railway.

In addition, Canadian Pacific replaced some railroad ties, and removed the current emergency platform and replaced it with a new one on the north end of the platform.

Construction is scheduled from June 2012 through Spring 2013. Amtrak Hiawatha Service will continue during construction.

The estimated project cost is $678,021, which is funded entirely by a grant from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).

WisDOT signed a cooperative agreement with the FRA in January 2011.
