Project overview

Corridor study will provide long range plan for improving traffic flow and safety on Capitol Drive.

Study purpose

• Analyze existing and future traffic demands
• Develop alternatives for addressing safety concerns
• Evaluate alternatives for widening Capitol Drive from four lanes to six lanes
• Examine environmental impacts and measures to avoid or minimize impacts

Major study outcomes include

• Environmental Assessment (EA) including a range of alternatives and their impacts to the environment.
• Functional plan outlining the preferred option.

Study started 2008.

Status/phase

Study with no construction activity. Study scheduled to be completed in 2012.
