Environmental Assessment (EA)

An EA will be prepared that will document the need for any proposed improvements, the alternatives being considered, and the impacts the improvements will have to the surrounding areas.

• This is required by National and Wisconsin Environmental Policy Acts (NEPA) for projects with potentially significant social, economic, natural resource, and other impacts.
• The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is the lead agency for the Environmental Document, which will be prepared in accordance with FHWA guidelines.
• The Environmental Document is tentatively scheduled for public review and comment in 2014.
