Project location

US 10, WIS 13 (Marshfield) - I-39 (north of Stevens Point), in Portage and Wood counties.

Project overview

31 miles of US 10 expansion.

  • New four-lane highway will bypass communities of Auburndale, Blenker, Milladore and Junction City
  • New US 10 will bypass downtown Stevens Point, west of I-39
  • Project to provide a highway facility that will safely and efficiently handle increasing traffic volumes

US 10 is on the National Highway System (NHS) and is an important route in Wisconsin's Corridors 2020 transportation plan.

US 10 serves central Wisconsin as an important east/west highway connecting Twin Cities and Fox Valley. It is an important regional, state and national link for business, industry, recreation and agriculture.

Project represents an estimated $244 million investment in central Wisconsin's transportation system.

Status/phase

Construction started 2006 and scheduled for completion 2012.
