US 151 (WIS 175-County WH) Fond du Lac Bypass Corridor Preservation - Need/purpose

US 151, between WIS 175 and WIS 23, does not meet Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s (WisDOT) goals and objectives for an ultimate conversion to a freeway facility. US 151 has a high importance as a regional corridor and connects major metropolitan areas within Wisconsin to bordering states.

This study provides a systematic approach to evaluating and determining the future locations of overpasses and interchanges along the US 151 corridor between US 41 and WIS 23. This approach follows the stringent requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process.

This study will allow citizens to:

  • Remain informed with future planned improvements along the US 151 corridor.
  • Allow growth along the Fond du Lac community to develop according to these future transportation plans.

The preservation study also provides a stewardship of public funding by minimizing the potential of acquiring expensive, developed property to accommodate these future transportation needs.
