WisDOT has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) document in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and the Wisconsin Environmental Policy Act. The Draft EA was signed by the Federal Highway Administration on April 10, 2012.

It documents the need for proposed improvements, the alternatives that were considered, and their impacts.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is the lead agency for the EA, which will be prepared in accordance with FHWA guidelines.
