Looking down and all around.

As licensed pilots, trained troopers began flying speed enforcement missions in the late 1950s. Today, the State Patrol Air Support Unit has Cessna 172 Skyhawk aircraft based in Madison, Eau Claire and Green Bay ready to fly missions statewide. In addition to traffic enforcement, officers in aircraft have a tremendous vantage point for surveillance, search and rescue, and other missions.
