The State Patrol frequently is requested to provide motorcade escort and other security services during visits to Wisconsin by high-ranking government officials and presidential candidates. The Dignitary Protection Unit is responsible for the safety of the Governor, the Governor's family, and staff whenever they travel away from the State Capitol or Executive Residence.
