Striving to be the best

In the mid-1950s, the State Patrol began operating a training academy at Fort McCoy. The first class of officers graduated from the academy in 1955. In addition to providing training for State Patrol recruit classes, the Academy today provides a comprehensive curriculum of law enforcement and other instructional programs for a variety of agencies.
